I enjoyed the peer review process and found it to be very useful. The process was different than peer reviews I had done in the past because I had to specifically focus my reviews on certain components of the essay rather than doing so on what I felt needed to change. The paper guideline was good because it targeted the entire essay as a whole and avoided ending up with only surface-level corrections. I felt the comments I made on both essays were helpful in that they covered almost everything: the content and organization, description, analysis, and any sentence-level or grammatical issues. I also appreciated the reviews I received because they were coming from a different, outside perspective. The comments were beneficial as they focused on how I could clarify my essay and definitely highlighted parts that needed work. I like to balance out my critiques with praises on parts of the writing that are exceptional and flow very well and so I appreciated when I received the same types of comments. It gives you confidence with what you have but also a step to what you can do to improve and polish it.
